PETERSBURG – Have you visited the new full-service jewelry store in Petersburg? Owner Jon Pallen is happy to have purchased a storefront in Old Town for Petersburg Jeweller.
“Petersburg is really starting to revitalize itself,” said jeweler Mark Williams. “Plus, the charm and warmth of Old Towne is exactly what the owner was looking for.”
Currently, Williams is the only Petersburg Jeweler employee you will encounter. He attended Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania where he majored in fine art and minored in art history with a concentration in jewelry arts.
“Once I took my first jewelry class, I was hooked,” Williams said. “I started doing repairs and creating custom designs for students in my studio in college, and have been doing that ever since.”

Petersburg Jeweler offers a large in-house selection of silver, gold and platinum estate jewelry, custom designed jewelry, and jewelry repairs and cleanings.
“I also offer jewelry windings, nameplates, engravings, watch batteries and bead threadings,” Williams said.
If you have estate jewelry that never sees the rays of the sun or the glow of the moon, Petersburg Jeweler can buy it for you.
Petersburg Jeweler is a Citizen Watch retailer with a full line of Eco-Drive watches, and it has a state-of-the-art on-site repair shop that can handle anything from sizing to full restoration.
“I have a large selection of bridal and GIA-certified diamonds online, if you can’t find anything in-house,” Williams said. “I also offer fully custom design for those looking for unique pieces.”
Why choose the St. Petersburg jeweler?
“There are no salespeople here, you only work with a jeweler who has over 25 years of experience,” Williams said.
Most repairs are done within a few days. Same-day express service may also be an option.
“Our laser engraver allows us to cut nameplates, engrave pictures and monograms in a day,” Williams said. “We can even take your own handwriting to add something special to your piece. I also engrave logos and company names on the outside of stainless steel tumblers and flasks.”
If you pass by on a Saturday, you might run into Williams’ canine companions.
“I have three Chiweenie daughters [a cross between the Chihuahua and Dachshund] Foxy Brown, Tanzie and Betty White and Butkiss, a male black lab, Williams said. “They’re fun to have at work and people love to see them.”
Pallen of Fredericksburg also has two other locations: Fredericksburg Jeweler in historic downtown Fredericksburg and Richmond Jeweler in Cary Town.
Petersburg Jeweler is located at 13 W. Old Street near Maria’s Old Town 21, Blue Willow Tea Room and Old Towne Studio7. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Williams is available after hours by appointment only.
