High imitation Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi Bezel Official flagship store: How to spot a fake and where to get real ones?

Okay, here’s my story about trying to get a good fake Rolex GMT-Master II with the Pepsi bezel.

So, I’ve been eyeing a Rolex GMT-Master II, the one with the red and blue “Pepsi” bezel. Man, those things are expensive! I started looking around to see if I could find a really good fake, something that looks almost like the real deal. A friend of mine told me that he got a decent one from a Chinese online store.

I did some digging online, looking at forums and videos. There are so many websites and sellers out there, it’s kind of a jungle. I watched a video that showed how a real Rolex has these secret marks you can only see under UV light. They were comparing it to some fakes. I wondered if any of the fake ones could get that detail right. I figured it might be one of the ways to know it is a fake.

I finally found a few sellers that looked promising. I spent hours looking at pictures and reading reviews. Some of them had pretty good photos, but you never really know until you see it in person, right?

Anyway, I decided to take a chance and ordered one. The price was way cheaper than the original, which was a relief. I wasn’t expecting a miracle, but I was hoping for something that at least looked good from a distance.

The waiting was the worst part! It took a few weeks to arrive. When the package finally came, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I ripped it open and there it was. It looked alright at first glance, the colors of the bezel were pretty spot on, but something felt off.

I grabbed a UV flashlight I had lying around, remembering that video I saw. I shined it on the watch and… nothing. No secret marks, no hidden details. Bummer. It was a dead giveaway that this was a fake.

Then I started noticing other things. The weight was off, it felt kind of light. The bracelet didn’t feel as smooth as I thought it should. And the movement of the second hand wasn’t as smooth as the real one. It had a bit of a jerky motion.

  • Weight: Too light
  • Bezel: Colors good, but no UV reaction
  • Bracelet: Not smooth
  • Movement: Jerky second hand

I also tried to see if I could find a real Pepsi bezel for the original Rolex 16710, just in case I ever got my hands on a real one with a damaged bezel. I saw some people talking about it online, but it seems like those original parts are super hard to find and probably cost a fortune.

So, yeah, my quest for a perfect fake Rolex wasn’t a total success. It’s a decent watch for the price, I guess. But it’s definitely not fooling anyone who knows anything about watches. I’m still on the hunt, but maybe I’ll just have to save up for the real thing someday.

It is really a bummer! I was this close to getting a perfect fake, but I guess there is no free lunch. I just have to keep an eye out for a better one.
