Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about this little project I just finished. I decided to try my hand at making one of those fancy Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAGs – you know, the ones you see in those high-end specialty stores.
First off, I didn’t know a thing about these designer bags. But I saw this YSL JUNE BOX BAG, and I thought, “Hey, I can probably do that.” It’s a neat little boxy thing, not too big, not too small. Seems like it’d be perfect for a night out or just carrying your everyday stuff.
So, I started by looking at a bunch of pictures online. This bag, it’s got this flap on the front, and they put their fancy “CASSANDRE” logo on it. And there’s this stitching they call “diamond-quilted overstitching” – sounds complicated, but it’s basically just a pattern.
I went down to the local fabric store, found some material that looked about right. It wasn’t the real fancy stuff they use, but it was close enough. Then I started cutting and sewing. Now, I’m no expert, but I’ve done a bit of sewing in my time. This bag, though, it’s got some tricky bits. Getting that flap to sit just right, and that stitching pattern, it took some doing.
Here’s how I tackled it:
- First, I made a pattern. Just drew it out on some paper, based on the pictures I saw.
- Then, I cut out the pieces from the material I bought.
- Next, I started sewing the pieces together. This was the tricky part. Had to make sure everything lined up just right.
- For that “CASSANDRE” logo, I found a similar-looking piece of metal at the store and attached it to the flap.
- The diamond-quilted overstitching was a real pain. I ended up just doing a simple stitch pattern that looked kinda similar.
After a few evenings of work, I finally finished it. It’s not perfect, not like the real thing you’d buy in one of those fancy stores. But you know what? It looks pretty darn good! I even carried it around town a few times, and no one suspected it wasn’t a real YSL.
The Final Product
My homemade YSL JUNE BOX BAG, it’s a bit rough around the edges, but it’s got that same boxy shape. And it holds my stuff just fine. I’m pretty proud of it, to be honest. It’s a reminder that you don’t need to spend a fortune to have something nice. And hey, maybe I’ll try making another one of those fancy bags sometime. Who knows, maybe I’ll start a whole collection!
