You see, that CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon”, that’s a mouthful, ain’t it? But it’s a fancy watch, that’s for sure. A real fancy one. They say it’s a classic style, whatever that means. Just looks like a watch to me, but what do I know?
They say it’s got somethin’ to do with that Apollo 8, that’s what they call it. Apollo 8. Sounds like a name from one of them space movies. Must be important, though, if they puttin’ it on a watch. Probably went to the moon or somethin’. I reckon that’s why they call it “Dark Side of the Moon”. Sounds spooky, don’t it?
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout these old Speedmaster watches, sayin’ they’re worth a pretty penny. They say the price of those things are going up, up, up, just like them rockets! They’re worth more than $500, that’s what I heard, and some of them go for $35,000! Can you believe it? For a watch! You could buy a whole herd of cows for that kinda money!
These folks, they call ’em “collectors”, they’re all excited about these things. They say if you got one of these old watches, you gotta wear it and show it off. And keep track of how much it’s worth, like it’s a prize-winning hog at the county fair. I reckon they have a good reason for it. I don’t know much about that, I just hope they can get a good deal on them.
- This here watch, it’s got some special stuff inside.
- They call it “OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3869”.
- Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me.
- But it must be important, I guess.
They put some writin’ on the back of it too, “APOLLO 8” it says. Big letters. So you can’t miss it. Just in case you forgot what it was all about, I suppose. This watch is to celebrate the Apollo 8 mission, 50 years, they said. I don’t really get it, but I guess it is a big deal to those space guys.
I seen pictures of this watch. It’s black, mostly. Black like the night sky. Maybe that’s why they call it “Dark Side of the Moon”. Makes sense, I reckon. And it’s got all them little dials and hands. More than a regular watch, that’s for sure. Must be hard to tell the time with all that stuff goin’ on.
They say these OMEGA Speedmaster watches, they been to the moon. Not this particular one, maybe, but others like it. With them astronauts. Them fellas that went up in them rockets. Brave men, they were. Going up to the moon like that. I wouldn’t do it, no sir. Too scary for me.
They used them on all them Apollo missions. That’s what they call them. Apollo 11, Apollo 8, all of them. That’s when they first went to the moon. They still use them, I hear. Even today. These astronauts, they still wear these OMEGA watches. Must be a good watch if they still using it after all these years. They are very popular. And these watches are still going to space today. Can you imagine that?
This CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Apollo 8, it’s a copy, that’s what they say. But it’s still a good watch, I reckon. Probably not as good as the real one, but still good. And probably not as expensive, neither. Maybe a regular fella like me could afford one of these copies. Though I don’t know what I’d do with it. Don’t need no fancy watch to tell the time. The sun does that just fine.
But for them folks who like these things, this CopyOMEGA, it’s probably a good deal. They can get the look of that fancy moon watch without spendin’ all their money. And they can still have some money left over, you know? These copy ones, they are much cheaper than the real ones, only around $4, I think. You can’t buy nothin’ with $4 these days, except for a copy of a fancy watch, maybe.
- These Speedmaster watches, they’re popular.
- People like to collect them.
- They say they’re a good investment.
- Maybe they are, maybe they ain’t.
Well, that’s all I know about this CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” watch. It’s a fancy watch, that’s for sure. And it’s got somethin’ to do with the moon and them Apollo missions. And it’s a classic style, whatever that means. I think it’s a good watch, especially if you like space and stuff. If you like that kind of thing, then you’ll probably like this watch. If you don’t, then maybe not.
And if you got one of them old Speedmaster watches, hold onto it tight. Might be worth a fortune someday. Or maybe not. Who knows? These things are hard to figure out. Just like that moon up in the sky. Always changin’, always somethin’ new.
