Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a Rolex Submariner, the no-date version, you know, the classic style. But, man, those prices are insane! So, I started looking into these high imitation ones.
First, I browsed those websites, trying to find some info. I saw a bunch of them selling for different prices, it was so confusing! Some were around $8,000, some were even higher, like $12,000 or more. It was kinda overwhelming. I mean, I’m not exactly rolling in dough, so I needed to be smart about this.
Then, I started seeing these high imitation Rolexes everywhere, on TV, on people’s wrists. Everyone’s flexing them, you know? It got me thinking, maybe this is the way to go. I mean, it’s all about the look, right?
So, I dug deeper. I read that the new Submariner, the 126610, it’s a tiny bit bigger than the older one, the 116610, but they both say they’re 41mm. And the only difference I could really see on the dial was the little crown at the bottom. Everything else looked pretty much the same. I’m no expert, but they looked almost identical to me.
I even found out that these two-tone Submariners, they only weigh about 130 grams, and only a little bit of that is gold. It’s just the middle links and the crown. I was surprised, I thought they’d be heavier.
After all that research, I decided to pull the trigger and got myself a high imitation no-date Submariner. Honestly, when I got it, I was pretty impressed. It looks and feels like the real deal, at least to me.

My overall take
For anyone who likes the Rolex Submariner’s appearance but can’t or don’t want to pay its sky-high price, these high imitation versions might be a good option. But you must do your research, like I did, because it’s a wild market out there. You can get a decent one if you’re careful and don’t expect it to be a 100% perfect copy.
