Got this idea the other day, decided I’m gonna remake that Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG, the classic style one you see in all those fancy stores. So, I started gathering up all my stuff.
First off, I went looking for some good leather. This June Box Bag, they make it in all sorts of styles – regular leather, that weird snake-skin stuff, even calfskin. But I wanted that soft, smooth lambskin. Feels real nice, you know? Found a good piece, not too expensive, and snatched it up.
Then came the tricky part, the quilting. I ain’t no expert, but I figured it out. Watched a couple of videos, practiced a bit on some scraps. Took my time, stitched each line carefully. It’s all about getting those squares to line up just right, makes it look all fancy and puffy.
- Step 1: Find good lambskin leather.
- Step 2: Practice quilting on scrap leather.
- Step 3: Carefully stitch the quilting pattern onto the good leather.
Next, I started working on the shape of the bag. It’s a box, right? So I cut out the leather pieces, making sure they were all the right size. Sewed them together, inside out at first, then flipped it. Wasn’t too hard, just had to be patient, make sure all the edges lined up. Started to look like a bag!
The YSL logo thing, that was a bit of a challenge. They call it the “Cassandre” logo, sounds important. I found a good metal piece that looked just like it. Attached it to the front flap, right in the center. Makes it look official, like the real deal.
Making the Strap
For the strap, I used some more of that lambskin, sewed it into a long tube, and attached some metal rings. Made it adjustable, so you can wear it however you like. Attached it to the bag, and bam! Almost done.
Lined the inside with some soft fabric, added a little pocket. You know, for your phone or whatever. Stitched it all up, and there it was. My very own YSL JUNE BOX BAG. Looks pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. Feels good to make something with your own two hands, especially something that looks this classy. It’s got that “vintage” and “modern” look, like they say. I don’t really know what that means, but it sure does look good!
It is a Classic Style! Now I can carry it anywhere.
