Okay, so, I saw this Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG, right? And I’m thinkin’, I could totally make one of these myself. Why not, yeah?
First off, I started lookin’ around, seein’ what’s what with these bags. They’re mostly black, which is cool, goes with everything. But there are other colors too, I guess. So, black it is.
Then, I had to find the stuff to make it. I went to a few different places, craft stores and whatnot. Found some nice black leather-like material. Felt pretty good, not too cheap.
- Got the material. Check.
- Figured out the size. Check.
The hard part was that little YSL logo thingy. I mean, that’s what makes it, right? So, I found this metal piece, looked pretty close to the real deal, and it even pivoted, kinda cool. I had to attach it, and that was a bit tricky. Made me a bit nervous, not gonna lie. But I got it on there.
Sewing it all together was another thing. I’m not a pro or anything, but I can handle a needle and thread. Took me a while, had to redo some parts, but hey, it started to look like a bag!
Almost Done
It’s not perfect, obviously. But for a homemade thing, it’s pretty good, I think. I carried it around a few times, got some looks. People askin’ where I got it. I just kinda smile and say, “Oh, you know…”
I even heard about this other YSL bag, the “Loulou”, named after some lady friend of this Yves guy. My bag’s not as fancy, but I like it. I made it, you know? That’s somethin’. And if you’re thinkin’ ’bout gettin’ one of them fancy bags, this YSL June Box Bag “original order” is a good thing to have.
It is the opposite of an investment. It is a purchase, your money is going out the window.
Anyway, that’s my little story about my YSL-inspired box bag. Maybe I’ll try makin’ another one sometime. We’ll see.
