Alright, let’s talk about this Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001 “original order” remake I messed with. I got my hands on one of these a while back, and let me tell you, it was something else. First off, I started by finding one of these bad boys.
I started by looking around. Took some searching and I got one. After got it, the first thing I did was to open it up. I took a good look at all the little bits and pieces inside. They call it a “movement.”
Next up, I took it apart and tried to figure it out piece by piece. Diameter is 27 mm, thickness is 3.3 mm. It got 212 parts and 30 jewels. And also it got a self-winding. Pretty neat. Then, I started to look at each part one by one. It’s a real pain, let me tell you. This other thing, it’s like 2.55 mm thick and got 164 parts.
After figuring all that out, I tried to put the whole thing back together. I spent hours on this thing. Then I checked to see if it still ticked. And guess what? It did!
Finally, I got the whole thing working again. It looks real shiny with that gold. And the strap feels pretty good, too. It took a while, but I managed to remake this Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001.
- Looked around to find the watch
- Took it apart to see the “movement”
- Figured out all the parts and sizes
- Put it all back together
- Checked if it worked, and it did
My Experience
If you are into watches and want to try something like this, go for it. It’s a fun project. But be ready to spend some time on it. It ain’t easy, but it’s worth it in the end. You get to see how these fancy watches work and even get to say you put one together yourself.
